Back Again, just not in the Gym

I like to think of writing a blog as I do going to the gym, something that requires dedication, something that is addictive, and something that is extremely hard to get back into once you have taken a break.

When I first started this blog back in January I was extremely motivated, had so much to talk about, and was on this wonderful streak of writing every day, I was hooked. However with life, come obstacles; I was in school staking a creative writing course, and to be honest, I just sort of ran out of things to say. Between writing a new post every day, and also having to write for my course, all my “great” ideas were slowly being taken up.

This was when the pressure set in. I felt that in order to make this blog successful I couldn’t take a day off, and because I refused to take a day to recharge my ideas, slowly my content, like myself, grew bored and tired. Until one day I started to see the views titter off, and I sort of lost my inspiration so to speak. I felt like I was failing and once I took one day off, that one day turned into a week, which turned into a month, and here I am several months later finally trying to get back into the swing of things.

You see I love blogging, much like I love running and going to the gym. And while my ideas never stopped, just like my telling myself to get off the couch and hit the gym never stopped, I just didn’t know where to start again.

So I guess I’m going to start here. Start fresh and on a new note. I’m not committing myself to a daily post, for anyone in university will understand the stress that comes with making sure you attend the correct lectures on the right days is hard enough, let alone the work they pile on top. But I’m going to try and dedicate myself to doing what I love; writing my thoughts and sharing them with others. Maybe it won’t be every day, or on some scheduled, but hopefully it will be better and more captivating- because I’ll be writing because I want to not because I feel like I HAVE to. I suppose I’ll just have to see where it all goes.

…Maybe I will even GO (ha see what I did there) and get back into my regular gym routine.

… Maybe.

… One step at a time.
